| Game Description: | ![]() Description Going for a trip to another country? You need this application. Call Emergency! is a windows mobile application that contains a complete list of emergency numbers (police, fire, ambulance) for each country in the world. The application automatically detects the country you are in and shows that country’s emergency number. You can also search for other country’s emergency numbers by typing the country’s name or by scrolling through the alphabetical list. It has a nice and simple user interface. It makes use of gesture scrolling instead of a scroll bar. Call Emergency! is designed and developed by Mobivants. We want to hear your feedback so we can improve our products. Do send us emails with your comments and feedback. |
| Comments | I was going on a trip for the upcoming school holidays and thought that Activant’s Call Emergency is something that I’d need. It was rather easy to use. You select the country from the app screen and the numbers for Police, Fire and Ambulance would be returned, allowing you to call them with a single touch.
The countries are organised into tabs alphabetically, with the last tab allowing you to select all the countries in one long list. I was obviously interested in the numbers of Singapore since that is where i lived, and the application actually is able to detect where i am residing now to give me the default call numbers for Singapore. The comprehensive list of countries that the app supports is also an area in which the app could be improved upon. If you noticed, Singapore is listed under S together with Seychelles and Sierra Leone. I really don’t think i would be visiting these countries anytime soon so having a regionally targeted list would make the application more useable. I know I could have easily done a search, or access one of the tabs to find Singapore, but I thought it would be nice to have an app called Call Emergency Asia, listing all the countries at a glance, with 1 tab instead of the current 7 for the countries I’d be visiting. Yes, I know, sometimes, I am just asking for the sky. |

Comments
Totem Star is actually a pretty cool game and it fits very well in the category of games that you can play on the train/ bus trip home.
The graphics and background music is nice, though it tends to be rather repeatable after a while. What I really like is how the game leads me to discover ways of earning more points without foregoing game play. For example, it is simple enough to circle stars of the same shapes and colors initially, and you can earn a good number of points with that. But if you circled stars based on the indicated configuration you’d be bestowed with more points and these combinations get harder and harder as we dived deeper and deeper into the game. And before you get bored with this, you’d soon discover that circling 7 stars all of different colors would give you an even higher set of points (something called Rainbow collection, I think).
I am sure there are many such combinations waiting to be discovered. I can’t wait to find out what they are.

Great launch of Windows Phone throughout Asia
Windows Phone was launched throughout Asia in the month of Oct. In Taiwan, for example, the launch has generated an enormous momentum with Microsoft’s partners in the mobile industry and broad reach to consumers around the island. Specifically a very successful press event generated much coverage both online and offline.
Applications from ISVs are featured strongly in the launch events.
For example, the launch event in Singapore featured the following applications from ISVs
- ProxiHome : Inspire- Tech
- Autumn Dynasty and Totem Star: Touch Dimensions
- Navi Fone : Agis
- DBS Indulge : Cellcity and DBS
- GV Ticket Booking System : Golden Village
- Piece Hunters : Azukisoft
- Forage : XSago
- Need for Speed : EA Games
- Muvee movie maker : muvee
Some of these applications were also featured in the launches of other countries.
For example, Autumn Dynasty and Flying Chick were shown to the press in Taiwan.
Both applications are prominently featured in Windows Marketplace for Mobile.
